Mexico is famous for its vibrant culture, history, food, beaches, resorts, and a myriad of tourist attractions. The nation of Mexico has a rich and beautiful heritage, but not too long ago, Mexico was facing some of the most serious instability in its history. Government corruption was wide-spread and the drug cartels’ activity ravaged many regions of the nation for several decades. In recent years, many parts of the country have seen great improvements and positive structural reforms, but most of the people of Mexico still live in extreme poverty and lack sufficient education.

As for matters of faith, nearly 85% of all Mexicans identify with being Catholic, but the Pew Research Center has discovered that only 40% of Mexicans actually attend church regularly, only 18% of them say that they are highly committed to their faith, and less than 12% read the Bible on a regular basis. Mexico is one of our most popular mission trip options for youth groups and college groups because any person of any age can easily jump into ministry by sharing the Gospel with Mexican people in a variety of ways.
