Turkey

Turkey is the bridge between eastern Europe and western Asia. Turkish culture is a unique fusion of oriental and occidental ideologies, with cultural connections to multiple ancient empires. Centuries ago, the land that is now modern-day Turkey, was the “cradle” of the church. It is the region where the Apostle Paul traveled and ministered, and it was the epicenter of Christianity in the first century. But today Turkey is dominated by Islam, and it is almost completely devoid of Christians and churches. More than 99% of the population of Turkey is considered unreached.

Bethany has partnerships with long-term workers that are hosting short-term teams as an integral part of their local ministry strategy. Your team will travel to different cities and visit ancient Christian sites. You will focus primarily on prayer-walking and a variety of different forms of relational ministry, looking for opportunities to simply talk about your faith with Muslims in a personal one-on-one setting. In some towns, you will be the first Christian to walk down those streets. And most times, when you talk to a person in Turkey about Jesus, it will be the first time they have ever heard the Gospel.
