Ghana has a long history and has played a vital role in the overall development of West Africa. In recent decades, southern Ghana has seen tremendous development, but most of the people in central and northern Ghana still live in extreme poverty and lack sufficient education. Ghana is very much a “Christianized” nation, but most of the churches are in the south. The people living in the central and northern regions have limited access to the Gospel because Islam has been dominant there.

Bethany has a tremendous partnership with long-term workers that have planted more than 400 churches over the last several years. Our partners have targeted an additional 12,000 unreached towns and villages across Ghana that need a Gospel-centered church. Thanks to this partnership, Bethany teams are able to share the Gospel with Muslims and promote local church plants that will transform communities.
